One memory that I'd like to share is how I loved to have a "sleepover" at her house and how special I felt to have all that attention. She was my mentor who I deeply respected and adored..
Over the years I've saved many of her beautifully handwritten letters and her penmanship is something to be admired, even after her hands became so arthritic.
I so regret not being at her Celebration of Life service as our passports are in transition pending renewal.
I am so honored to have called her Aunt Ruby for many years, now may she rest in peace.

My dear Great Aunt Ruby, though I didn't know her well, was a kind, gentle soul. When I did get to see her, she was so welcoming and eager to share family stories, pictures and history. And man, she didn't forget a thing! Whenever I had sent a Christmas card or letter, she always responded with a handwritten letter. What I most remember about her was her sweet smile. Her eyes lit up but I think it was something about her cheeks. I can't pinpoint it, but I loved her smile. To me, she is an angel now smiling down on us from above. And you thought heaven couldn't get any better........
Love, Lisa Stromgren Casey

On behalf of my Mother Eileen Trigg, I wish to pass on our condolences to the family. Mom enjoyed Rubys company at the Battle River Lodge and missed her when she moved. They had many a discussion about life on the farm. Family was very important to Ruby. She will be fondly remembered and saddly missed.

I have many memories of Ruby during the time my Dad, Oliver Hoel pastored at the EFree Church in Wainwright from 1961-1971. As I remember, Tuesday night was prayer meeting in the Heath area and Turnbulls would always take their turn. Ruby was so gentle and hospitable and even as a teenager I enjoyed being with her. I remember her being so good to my Mom and also having us as a family for meals. Garden produce was also often given for us to enjoy later. I think she also played the piano. My sympathies to her remaining family. May you find peace in knowing that she is with Jesus.
