Very sorry to hear of Butch's passing. My condolences to his family and friends. Butch was one of a kind. Powerful, intelligent and a man of many skills and talents. Whether is was golf, badminton, bowling or dog training, Butch was good at all things he enjoyed. Together with Tannis, they built a beautiful home on his land at Fabyan, AB. I enjoyed trips to the farm to visit, do some dog training and hear about Butch’s achievements with Sparky, Sheba and Randy, all champions. Butch left the world better than he found it. As he would say "you got that right!"

Dear Margit and family of Butch,
We are saddened to learn of Butch's death.
We lived in Wainwright for 21 years and met Butch through the Wainwright and District Wildlife Conservation Society. He worked so much for it.
He was very good at talking to people and encouraging them to join!!! We knew Tanis, as veterinarian for our pets. It was wonderful when the two of them got married!!!
We remember when Butch was at dances in the community that he was a very good dancer. We have been away from Wainwright for 19 years now, but remember Butch's interest in animals and golfing and travelling.
We are thinking of you. It must be hard to live so far away from relatives, especially during a time of grief. Butch is remembered and his lively spirit is missed. Sincere sympathy to all your family.
Julie and Toyo Ishida, Tofield, Alberta Canada

The entire Trefry family (Helen, Phil, Sarah and Amy) wish to pass on their sympathies to Margit and family for the passing of Butch, as we knew him. We spent many hours at the acreage of Butch and Tannis, and just as we still miss Tannis, we will miss Butch. He shared his great love of the outdoors, volunteering with the Wainwright Wildlife Conservation Society and working with us at the "Falcon Farm" (he was our quail man!). He allowed us to ride his Tennessee Walkers and taught us about training bird dogs and raising pheasants. He was generous of spirit, easy going and quick to smile. He was a unique character with interesting stories to share and he enriched our lives.

We would like to share our griefs and memories with all.
We have had many good moments with Borge and the good friends we have met in Canada through the years.
It has been difficult to be so far away below Borges disease. Therefore it has meant a lot for us to know that Borge not was alone.
"In the heart kept, never forgotten"
Margit and Leif, Denmark.
