What a lovely picture of Eleanor! She will always be in my heart. I met her when I was about twelve and she has been my favorite cousin ever since. Our childhood adventures occurred in Rimbey, Irma, Swan Hills, and Vermilion, to name a few of the hot spots, and she spent one year living with our family in Sherwood Park.
I admired her fine sense of humor, unbelievable resilience and uncanny ability to accept life as it came, even at the ripe old age of twelve. Well read, articulate and self-contained she grew up in many of the small towns of Alberta with her father, a School Principal, in a time when Principals were rotated throughout rural Alberta. I always marveled at how she navigated these changes and we had such fun when we were together.
I was so happy when she met Rick and Wainwright became her home. He was her person from day one! A home, two wonderful sons, a daughter- in- law she delighted in, and two precious grand children reflect her deepest wishes and her greatest loves.
My deepest sympathy to Rick and family.

Richard and family. We are very sorry to hear of Eleanor's passing. Take solace in the good memories you have. She always greeted us with a smile and a big "hi" whenever we would meet in the Co-op or elsewhere around town. She will be missed.

Rick and Family,
So sorry to hear of Eleanor's passing.....such a great picture you picked! My first memory of Eleanor was at Grandma Roebuck's in Vermilion when I arrived for music lessons when I was probably 6 or 8. Every time I saw her, she met me with a mischievous smile and a twinkle in her eye....I always wondered what she was up to....probably best I didn't know.....! Also ran into her at the Walline's acreage at Sherwood Park....I was the youngest girl cousin there so never knew all the planning that went into their night life.....but did know they had a lot of fun! Keep her memories close to your hearts!
