Obituary of Mary Greasley
Mary Greasley (nee Benca) passed away peacefully at age 93, with family by her side at her home in Port Severn Ontario on July 2, 2016.
She and her six younger siblings raised by their immigrant parents, John and Anna Benca, had a small farm six miles north of the old Rosedale Hall near Edgerton.
Mary grew up to be a young adventurous woman. Fate took her to Windsor, Ontario with later her family following two years later. It was a rewarding family filled life.
Over the decades, she never forgot her Western roots. She never lost her reverence for the people she knew growing up, and came back to visit Edgerton a number of times.
The 500 square foot homestead at the SE quarter of section 1-47-4W4 that the family of nine shared through the 1930’s, was her source of strength in life and always her home.
Mary will be put to rest beside her beloved late husband Tom at Riverside Cemetery in Etobicoke Ontario on July 14, 2016.
