Condolences to the cousins. My Dad, Joe Seguin, enjoyed visits to Wainwright, pick up Clarence and travel to Cold Lake and areas. Our family would exchange stories of camping and fishing. Dad and Clarence didn't spend time together as kids. They made up for it in their older age. Cousin Joseph Seguin and second Cousin Lorraine Seguin

Our deepest sympathies to all of Clarence’s family. We have missed him dearly at the Lodge, especially when he sang French songs with Denise, since he moved to Wetaskiwin. Al remembers Clarence telling him stories when he worked on Al’s motorcycles way back in the sixties. One story was about Clarence and his dad building a snow plane many years ago when they lived in Bonnyville, and they took the RCMP, in the snow plane, from there to Cold Lake to investigate a homicide. Clarence has had a very interesting life and it has been such a pleasure knowing him.

And many people in Wainwright fondly remember Clarence riding his motorized trike around town.

Every once in a while you meet someone with a twinkle in his eye and a happy spirit. That was Clarence. We met at the Battle River Lodge when I was visiting my mom Velma. I got to know him more on subsequent visits and was always tickled that he didn't mind me practising my French on him. (I pronounced his last name the French way: "say gaah.") One time when my husband Dave was there with me, we and my mom visited Clarence in his room, as he was interested in playing us some of his music tapes. We couldn't believe that he had some music from one of our favourite groups, La Bottine Souriante! He had other great music too - excellent taste in music in our humble opinions! The most fun was getting Clarence to sing French songs at the Lodge. He really was musical and had a very nice singing voice. Clarence always seemed happy to see you, no matter how ill he might be feeling. Those who knew him from his shop in Wainwright know how brilliant he was too - I hear he could make an entire motor bike from scratch, parts and all. Clarence was a very nice person and he will be sorely missed.
