Obituary of William Ivan Powell

William Ivan (Bill) Powell passed away peacefully on July 9th, 2021 at Points West Living in Wainwright. He was predeceased by his wife Helen Jane Powell in 1996; his two brothers Orville and Chess; his two sisters Evelyn and Gladys. Bill and Helen had three children; he is survived by Gail, Gregg (Toni) and Trevor (Connie), his 7 grandchildren Clay, Tanya, Rochelle, Carla, Kayla, Sean and Lisa; as well as 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bill loved watching hockey and curling. He played the harmonica, liked music, dancing, walking and taught his grandchildren how to play his favourite card game crib. Bill and Helen moved to Alberta from Manitoba to Turner Valley where they settled to raise their family. A family Celebration of Life will be held, Aug 7, 2021 at 11:00 am from the Queen's Park Cemetery, Calgary, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta NWT.
