Marlene Florence Lagore posted a condolence

My sincere condolences to the entire family of Mrs. Miller. It was nice she resided in a familiar part of the province until her final days which I hope were peaceful. In viewing her pictures, I see a very strong resemblance to her mother, Mrs. Preslien from when, as young gals, Karol and I spent some time in Camrose visiting relatives and I was fortunate enough to go over to meet her grandparents. Oddly enough, my second husband (Glen Lagore) grew up in the Hughenden area and his parents actually farmed only 8 miles from the Preslien family. Being they were from different school districts they did not attend many of the same activities. Mrs. Miller was my very STRICT Girl Guide leader, swimming instructor and sub. bus driver. She was a huge part of our small community and certainly contributed, in many, many ways, to whatever was taking place. My last contact with her was at the 100th Anniv of Chauvin and she looked great there - just the way I wish to remember her. By recalling the many happy times shared, may it help to ease your loss at this sad time. In love and friendship - Marlene (McNalley)

I remember Mrs Miller from my Chauvin days. Always a nice person to us teenagers who seemed to do things we shouldn’t have. Well respected in the Community. I am glad she had a long life in this world. Rest in Peace Mrs Miller. May all your Good deeds be a Blessing in your Memory. Thanks Karol for letting me know your mom passed.

I remember Kirstie’s involvement in so many events when she lived in Chauvin. She and Ethel Dickson could be relied on to write a poem or song for bridal showers or recognition for community members. She was also instrumental in forming the community choir. She was very missed when she moved to Wainwright but I always enjoyed short visits over the years. Sincere sympathy for your loss Stuart, Karol and Debbie and your families.

I have many lovely memories of Kirstie; most of them to do with treats!
Loved making lefse with her, and will think of her whenever I unwrap a Werther's!
I could always count on her for reassurance and cheering on!
Miss her dearly!
