Heather and I were childhood friends, she was my best friend for years. Great memories of playing barbies, listening to John's 45's on the stereo, lots of sleep overs and getting into lots of trouble for staying out late. Good times (lol). Reading of the memories here made me think of her Mom and how generous, wonderful person she was, I can see where Heather followed in her footsteps. We had lost touch after I got married but a few times we got together for coffee when I came down to see my parents. Great childhood memories of my best friend and very sad to hear that she passed away. Thank you Heather for being in a good friend and leaving great memories in my life. Marilyn (Andersen) Ponech

We are deeply saddened to learn of Heather’s passing. She was a great friend and a wonderful neighbour…. The kind of neighbour that makes you never want to sell your house. From day 1 when we were doing Reno’s and had no running water she would bring us all home made breakfast sandwiches and hot coffee … then tarts that she had made with all the fruits from her garden and more coffee for afternoon snack. It didn’t stop there ….. when we moved in she was always around to offer gardening advice, lend a helping hand and of course bring us home made treats! She was a friendly smiling face over the fence in the yard, a kind sole that would greet you when you pulled into the driveway. We shared many nights around the back yard fire, we shared meals and treats back and forth between houses. Heather was loved by all of our friends and family that would come to visit us, my dad and nephews just adored her. Heather will be truly be missed. Right from the start it was obvious that she loved her boys…. They were her world and that was no secret! Jared and Andrew …. Our deepest condolences. If you need anything remember we are just next door!

My deepest sympathy to Heather's sons Jared and Andrew and her sister Donna. All beautiful people and such a huge shock to hear this news. If I can help in any way please don't hesitate to come next door (west side) and ask. I will miss her dearly and the least I can do to honour her true spirit of giving.

Heather has left such an impression upon me that I was very sad to hear from my daughter about her passing. She is absolutely one of the kindest and most beautiful souls I have ever met in my life. Heather was my daughter’s neighbour and when we were renovating the home prior to her moving in it was Heather showing up with breakfast and lunch as well as break time coffees and snacks and cookies and oh my…. I was sure I had found the promise land. I could talk to her like we knew each other for our entire lives, what a wonderful soul.
Heather has left our presence but she will never leave our hearts. The world is a bit more gloomy without her being in it. RIP Heather you have earned it.

So perfectly said Ken as I have been her neighbour since July of last year mostly because she vouched for me with my landlord. A lot of people wanted the house next door to her and her kind and generous spirit. She was constantly offering me stuff out of her garden and telling me to help myself. She would talk to my furry kids through the fence too and my girl is still sadly looking for her. My boy went to the other side in February and I am sure greeted her at the bridge. RIP my dear friend.
