Obituary of Joan Catherine Reinhart

On Thursday, June 1, 2023 Joan Reinhart of Wainwright, Alberta passed away at the Wainwright Auxiliary Hospital at the age of 61 years.  Joan was born in Wainwright, AB on November 28, 1961 to Jim and Agnes Reinhart and raised on the farm south of Ribstone, AB.  Joan attended school in Chauvin till grade 10 then attended Wagner High in Edmonton.  Joan got married in 1984 and had her first born son, Mark in 1984 and her second son, Dean in 1986, Joan was later divorced.  Joan went back to school in 1993 for criminal justice, she raised the boys and worked while going back to school.  She started her program at Augustana in Camrose and finished in Grant McEwan in 1996.  After Joan finished her education she moved back to the Wainwright area.  She worked in wainwright as first a probation officer and then a parole officer, she was extremely happy with her career and tried to bring light to those around her.  In 1997 she was diagnosed with primary progressive Multiple Sclerosis, the MS was very aggressive and it was a short period of time before she was wheelchair bound. Her kids were young at the time only 10 and 12 years old.

Joan kept a positive attitude even after her diagnosis, if you asked her how her day was she always said it was awesome, she worried about her friends and family and truly wanted the best for everyone.  She was polite, always said thank you and let people know how much she appreciated them.  In the year 2012 Joan became a sister in the Jehovah's Witnesses kingdom hall. She loved her congregation and loved God, she was a great example to others a pleasure to be around. Joan loved God so much and was looking forward to paradise when all sickness will be gone. 

In the spring of 2023 Joan's condition changed for the worse, her health deteriorated quickly over a short period of time and she has now passed from this life. 

Joan is survived by son, Mark (Roanna) and grandchildren, Tyson and Tianna; son, Dean (Rhea) and grandchildren, Darius, Domonique, Brody, Nathan and Rogan); sister, Jessie (Rob) Goodall and nieces Christine (Brian) Downing and family, Shannon (Blair) Mailer and family, Andrea (Vance) Webb and family; sister, Ellen (Blair) Ewasiuk, nephew, Justin(Aimee) and niece, Heather (Tanner); sister, June Reinhart.  Joan was pre deceased by her parents Jim and Agnes. 

A funeral service for Joan will be held at the Jehovah Kingdom Hall in Wainwright on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM.  Interment will follow the service at the Edgerton Cemetery.
