Alfred Donovan Keyes

July 3rd, 1944 - August 19, 2023

Alfred Keyes passed away at the Camrose hospital on the 19th of August, 2023, at the age of 79, with Lynn and Brent at his side.

Alfred was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, on July 3rd, 1944, and grew up on the family farm near Bow Island, Alberta.

He joined the army at the age of 17 and served for 29 years with postings in Wainwright, Shilo, Kapaskasing, Moose Jaw, Inuvik, Oromocto, and Calgary. After leaving the military he worked for a few years at PCL construction and ID foods. Alfred was married to Lynn Rodgers on the 15th of July, 1967.

He is survived by his wife Lynn and son, Brent (Ali); brother, Jerry Keyes; sister, Judith Keyes, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Norman in 2021; sister, Shirley in 2023 and sister, Florence in 2004. 

Alfred will be remembered for his sociable nature, sense of humor, and his kind and caring ways. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held at the Wainwright Cemetery October 7, 2023, At 2:00 PM.
