Ms King taught me English in Mannville and she was wonderful. She cultivated my love of literature and inspired me to be an English teacher myself. She is the measure by which I hold myself as a teacher; I want to be able to inspire teenagers as she did me. I just wish I had seen her again to tell her. My heartfelt condolences go out to Fern. With great sadness I learned of Cheryl's passing. I will cherish my memories of summer visits at the farm, the year we were roommates at Grandma Lowther's house and her presence at my wedding. We didn't meet often in later years but I was aware of her many accomplishments. Cheryl had a gift for living fully - intellectually, artistically, with many interests and a strong social conscience. Ms. King was one of my favorite, inspiring teachers in high school. She had a way of engaging even the most reluctant of learners. As a teacher myself, I believe my own teaching practices have been influenced by my own experiences in her classes. Rest in Peace Ms. King.

I am so sad to hear of this. With all respect and sincerity, she was the most intelligent and driven woman I have ever come to know. She was an exceptional teacher and always inspirational. My condolences to Fern, Rebecca and the rest of the family. Tanya

My favourite memory of high school was of Ms King standing on a dest reading Shakespeare. She will be greatly missed.
