Obituary of Louella Lee Komadina

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Louella Lee Komadina of Wainwright, Alberta on July 29, 2022. Louella was born April 26, 1943 in Red Deer, Alberta to Juanita and Joseph Boothman. She always loved to read, was an honour student and went on to graduate from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. In 1962 Louella met the love of her life Vladimir (Wally to most, Vlady to her) Komadina on a blind date. She always told her family, from the minute she saw him, she knew they would get married. In 1964 Louella and Wally were married by a Burgermeister (Chief Magistrate) in Germany. They had three children: Mark, Catherine and Carey. With her husband in the military, Louella moved all over Canada until they settled in Wainwright in 1989. This is where her zest for life and desire to help people blossomed and was displayed through her exemplary work with Wainwright Adult Learning. Louella was also known for her baking. Many locals and visitors were able to try her pies and cakes, which she made at their restaurant, The Galleria. Louella was an amazing grandma and great grandma. She left a positive and lasting impact on everyone she met and was always ready to greet people with her bright and welcoming smile. Louella is survived by her loving husband, Wally; three children, Mark (Georgette) Komadina of Nanaimo, BC, Catherine (Russell) Skulmoski of Wainwright, Carey (Tracey) Komadina of Sherwood Park, AB; four grandchildren, Brent (Alexa) Komadina, Sarah (Cody Dunbar) Komadina, Mason (Cris Jaskula) Skulmoski, Kennedy Komadina; two great grandchildren Carter and Claire; sister, Bonnie (Dan) Cameron of Moncton, NB; and niece, Jenna Meehan of Airdrie, AB. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Juanita Boothman and brother, Barry Boothman. A celebration of life for Louella will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Wainwright Royal Canadian Legion. If so desired, the family would like to suggest in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Wainwright Health Centre.
